Thoughts intensify when there is any kind of emotional or physical suffering. Under no circumstances get on the mind train! The catastrophizing mind under pressure is the last place to find solace or clarity. Leave it well alone. Pay no attention to it. Know that it is mechanically churning out worst case scenarios, endlessly.
Return to your body and your self-nature and the current circumstances as they are, and let everything burn down and around and through you until whatever it is that life has brought to you has had its way with you. Then get up with any last shreds of dignity you may still have left and continue on, knowing that if nothing else, at least you didn't fall for the mad parrot inside your head.
